Keith has a new installment in the Dragon Precinct series now available from Dark Quest books.  In Gryphon Precinct, humans and elves, dwarves and gnomes, wizards and warriors all live and do business in the thriving, overcrowded port city of Cliff's End, to say nothing of the tourists and travelers who arrive by land and sea, passing through the metropolis on matters of business or pleasure—or on quests. The hard-working, under-appreciated officers of the Cliff's End Castle Guard work day and night to maintain law and order as best they can.

Cliff's End is rocked by the death of Lord Albin. As soon as the funeral ends, Albin's son Blayk takes over and starts instituting wholesale changes in how the Cliff's End Castle Guard is run: enforced retirements of older guards (including Captain Osric), surprise promotions (including Grovis to replace Osric as Captain of the Guard), sword requalifications for all guards, and much more.

Worse, Blayk has split up Lieutenants Torin ban Wyvald and Danthres Tresyllione and given them new partners. Lieutenant Dru, still devastated by the loss of Lieutenant Hawk, also has a new partner. All three detectives catch separate cases, but the more they investigate, the more they realize that all three are related—and connected to a conspiracy that targets the King and Queen themselves!

An all-new adventure of the Cliff's End Castle Guard!

Back in the late 90s, Keith co-edited an anthology called Urban Nightmares with the late Josepha Sherman. His first Cassie Zukav story was included in that collection. Over the years, Keith has written several more stories with the character that have been featured in other anthologies as well as being read here on DKR. Shortly, an anthology collecting all the stories to date and featuring new stories will be released by Plus One Press. To celebrate, Keith is holding two launch parties (one located here) and is reading one of the stories, "God of Blunder" in this episode.

For most of the 90s, Keith was an editor for the now-defunct Byron Preiss Multimedia Company.  BP, together with Berkley Boulevard, published a line of Marvel novels.  Keith was the Editorial Director of that line from its inception in 1994 until October 1998, and served as a consulting editor thenceforth until assorted legal problems caused the line to be halted in June 1999. Those problems were hashed out, and Berkley published the remainder of their line of books in 2000. Over six years, the line produced 45 novels and seven anthologies. Keith also contributed to the program as an author, cowriting Spider-Man: Venom's Wrath with José R. Nieto in 1998 and writing stories for four of the anthologies. In this episode, Keith reflects on his time as an editor for the line.

Keith returns with an excerpt from his latest novel.  The Zoo Job is a story that takes place in the Leverage universe.  As many of Keith's fans know or are aware from listening to The Chronic Rift, Keith is a huge fan of Leverage and getting to write an original novel was a thrill for him.  Take a moment to comment on the episode in the forums or by writingkrad@whysper.net or by calling 888-866-9010.
